How it Works

At Dances with Donkeys, first is the meet and greet - standing on the ground with the Donkeys and letting them smell you. Next is grooming, brushing, touching, petting, and talking to them!

With this process, the bond begins to form with Georgie and Billy Bob. Then, we halter them and lead them around the corral. You may choose to have a conversation with them. Some people use words and others use body language. Either way, this process ignites a very personal experience with the Donkey and confidence begins to build. As well we can engage the donkeys in various games, such as circling or navigating through different obstacle courses.

At the end of the session, you give the donkeys a little hay or some peanuts and say your goodbyes - with lots of hugs and kisses!

Completing all the activities above may take more than one session. Each person is treated as an individual and given the space to have their own personal experience in their own time.
